Denis Grote Obituary

Denis Mullen Grote passed away peacefully on December 23, 2024, in Denver CO. at an age of 85. Born on October 5, 1939, Denis led a life marked by generosity, kindness, humor, and a profound love for his family and community.
After completing high school in Omaha NE and getting a business degree from Creighton, Denis attended law school at Creighton University. His career was as diverse as it was fulfilling, including insurance sales, marketing roles at various companies, serving as Baseball Host for the Colorado Rockies, and his own wedding and high-school senior photography business (his true passion). He also worked as a commercial driver which allowed elderly and disabled folks to get to places of need. He also traveled extensively around Colorado and the perimeter of the United States. Denis's personal life was equally adventurous, marked by his marriage in Hawaii.
A man of faith, Denis was an active member of the Mile Hi Church in Lakewood, CO. His hobbies were many and he had a vibrant spirit. He enjoyed skiing, playing tennis, dancing, listening to classical music, and had a knack for humor. Denis also served as a workout instructor, sharing his enthusiasm for staying active with others.
Denis is survived by his loving spouse, Constance Grote, his children, Greg, Christine, Robert, Diane, Daniel, Michele, and his stepchildren Christine Rankin, Lynn Rankin, and Gary Rankin. He was a proud grandfather of thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren who will miss his warmth and guidance.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at Mile Hi Church on 9077 W Alameda Ave., Lakewood, CO. on Feb. 1 at 10:30 a.m.
