Denise Ann Almond, age 61, of Laona, Wisconsin, passed away suddenly on June 23, 2025.

She was born on March 14, 1964, in New Mexico to Lydia Landin and Dannie Almond. A proud veteran of the United States Army, Denise held deep respect for her fellow service members and found joy in sharing and hearing stories of military service.

Denise had a lifelong love for the outdoors. She especially enjoyed spending time at local lakes, fishing and taking in the peacefulness of nature. A true history buff, she was always eager to learn about the past and the events that shaped the present.

She married the love of her life, Edith Coates, on January 5, 2017, in Dodge County, Wisconsin. Their life together was rich with laughter, love, and quiet companionship.

Denise had a special love for animals, especially cats, and shared an unbreakable bond with her beloved kitty, Arya, who brought her daily comfort and joy.

She is survived by her wife, Edith; her children, Jensen (Miranda) Andrews and Rachel Negron; sisters-in-law, Kim Mills, Kay (Tom) Bradley, Jannette (Tom) Van Domelen, and Donna Mauk; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She is also lovingly remembered by many extended family members, friends, and fellow veterans.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Roy Almond; her father-in-law, Garth Coates Sr.; and her brother-in-law, Paul Coates.

Private family services will be held at a later date to honor Denise's life, her service, and the quiet strength she shared with all who knew her.
