BERKSHIRE – Denise V. Lafontaine, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at her home in Berkshire.
She was born in Berkshire on September 9, 1946 to the late Maurice & Jeannette (St. Jules) Robitaille.
Denise was a lifelong resident of her cherished community, known for her unwavering strength and nurturing spirit. She dedicated her life to her family and her work as a farmer and caregiver. She had a strong work ethic and commitment to those she loved, especially her children whom she would do anything to support them. Throughout her life, Denise raised her own meat and grew fresh vegetables, ensuring her family was nourished by the fruits of her labor. Her simple joys included watching westerns and the History and Lifetime channels, tending to her garden, and enjoying the beauty of nature, particularly her beloved birds at the feeders.
Her passion for the outdoors was matched only by her love for family. Denise would often lend a helping hand to her sister during haying season, share peaceful moments fishing, and find joy riding horses with Trigger, her loyal Palomino stallion, who seemed to have a special bond with her.
She is survived by her children, George Lafontaine III, Johnny Lafontaine, Michael Lafontaine and his wife Heather, Felton Lafontaine, Micheline Noyes, and Amos Lafontaine; grandchildren, George Lafontaine IV, Amber Lafontaine, Tyler Lafontaine, Sara Broe, Josh Furlow, Aliza Lafontaine, Cadence Lafontaine, Cassandra Lafontaine, Jenna Lafontaine, Michael Lafontaine, Samantha Lafontaine, Rylyn Lafontaine, Brice Lafontaine, and Leo Noyes; great grandchildren, Chase, Ariel, Alessa, Aubrey, Lenyx, Warren, Ryan, Autumn Rose, Aurora, and Liam; siblings, Raymonde Couture, Paul Robitaille, Jeannine Hall, Roger Robitaille, and Rene Robitaille; her companion, John Lafontaine; and many nieces & nephews.
