NORTHPORT – Dennis Joseph Caruso, 84, of Northport, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Dennis was born on January 30, 1941, in Detroit, the son of John and Rose (Vettreno) Caruso. On February 9, 2002, in Las Vegas, he married the love of his life, Jo E. Caruso, who survives.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, Dennis carried with him a lifelong sense of discipline, pride, and service. He had a deep love for people and his dogs, always eager to connect with others through laughter and good conversation. A regular at the Mitten Brewery in Northport, Dennis cherished spending time there among friendly faces, enjoying a beer and the warm camaraderie.
Dennis was an avid football fan, never missing a University of Michigan or Detroit Lions game and passionately supported Suttons Bay High School football
He found great joy in the natural beauty of Lake Michigan and in the comfort of his Northport community. His warmth, humor, and genuine heart will be remembered by all who knew him.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Jo E.; his children, David (Brenda) Caruso, Matthew (Shannon) Caruso, Debbie (Paul) Sundberg, Guy Prieur, and Leigh Prieur; five grandchildren (he was especially close to Zack and Katie); and three great-grandchildren.
