Dennis Strey Obituary

Dennis R. Strey, 70, Marshfield, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 17, 2025 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield with Rev. Mark Krueger officiating. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Marshfield.
Visitation will take place from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Sunday, March 16 and 9:00 am until the time of service on Monday, all at Rembs Funeral Home.
Dennis was born on April 20, 1954 in Marshfield to Victor and Dolores (Woldt) Strey. He graduated from Granton High School in 1972. After graduating, he worked construction for Greg Rotar until starting his own business in 1985. On August 6, 1994 he was united in marriage to Sandra Thimmesch at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Marshfield.
Dennis enjoyed NASCAR, watching the Green Bay Packers, deer hunting, going to fish fries and Thursday night chicken wings, traveling, and working in his shop.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Sandy, children, Brian (Brianna) Strey, Scott (Alicia) Strey, Lindsay (Ben) Sydow, stepchildren, Rachael (Darrin) Lichterman, Ryan Gauger, and Jason Gauger, and grandchildren, Leila, Oliver, Landon, Madeline, Gwendolyn, Shia, Preslie, Everett, Morgan, Annika, Sawyer, and Jordyn, siblings, David Strey of Granton, Allen (Barbara) Strey of Eau Claire, Kay Severt of Marshfield, and Gary (Sandra) Strey of Marshfield, mother in law, Gladys Thimmesch, and many brothers and sisters in law, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Carol Jakobi, brothers in law, Melvin Severt and Ronald Jakobi, and father in law, James Thimmesch.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Hewitt First Responders, Marshfield Fire and Rescue, and Wood County Deputies.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be designated at a later date.
