Dewana Rose Obituary

Dewana Dean Rose, 64, of Indianapolis, passed away on April 10, 2025 while sleeping peacefully next to the love of her life, her husband of 32 years, Jeffery Rose Sr.
Born June 25, 1960 in Indianapolis, IN, she was the youngest daughter to the late Noel and Willow Dean Fishburn. Dewana was a 1978 graduate of Franklin Central High School and worked at Dobbs International at the airport. Dewana was a beautiful singer which was showcased during evenings at karaoke and dancing with her husband. Dewana enjoyed reading a good book and collecting fairy statues. Her favorite activities in the world included spending time in the sun at the beach or pool while spending time with her family and friends but especially with her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband Jeffery Rose Sr.; bonus children Tabitha (Bryan) Lowery, Jeffery (Loretta)Rose Jr. and Tara (Matthew) Houchin; beloved grandchildren, Garrett, Patrick, Sophia, Taya, AJ, Jack, Rebbecca, Robert, Lily and Alex; great-grandchildren Ryder and Kailo; sister Wilma Thacker; best friend Mistie Ohler and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Eddie Fishburn, Patricia Eads, Barbara Hodges, nieces: Alycia Ann Trauterman, Joyce Burwell, nephews Rick Burwell and Bobbie Collis and brother-in-law Fred Thacker.
Dewana will be remembered for her generosity, her love of family, blood or chosen, and the genuine kindness she extended to everyone she met. Her warmth and joyful spirit live on in those she touched.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 17th from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, IN, with the Funeral Service at 6:00pm.
