Dewey Edwards Obituary

Dewey Lee Edwards, Sr., 93 passed away on July 8, 2025. He was the son of the late Gladys K. Roberson and James "Bruce" H. Edwards; his wife of 18 years, Sarah B. Edwards. He worked as Fire Control Mechanic, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, VA; Production Controller, Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Newport News Shipbuilding, Newport News, VA and retired from federal service in 1986. He was a handyman, enjoyed fixing cars in his younger days. After retirement, he enjoyed repairing lawn mowers, refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, and most anything. He was drafted into U.S. Army (1957-1959), U.S. Virginia Army National Guard (1959-1965).
He is survived by his son, Dewey Lee Edwards, Jr; granddaughters, Marcia A. Wilson, Patricia H. Stringfellow; daughter, Pat L. Rodberg: granddaughters, Alison Leigh Musch; great granddaughter, Anna Leigh Musch; grandson, Steven Douglas Rodberg; great grandsons, Clayton Alan Rodberg, Chase Steven Rodberg.
A graveside service will be held at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens in Suffolk, VA on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 10 AM. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.snellingsfuneralhome.com
