Diane Marie White, a woman of love and kindness, passed away at the age of 69 on July 6, 2025, at Stoneleigh Residence in Lansing. Born on February 11, 1956, in Lansing, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Eugene Fillwock and Patricia Ann Roman. Diane's life was a tapestry of devotion to her family, her work, and her many passions.
Graduating from Webberville High School, Diane furthered her education by attending Lansing Community College for two years. Her academic pursuits laid the groundwork for what would become a remarkable career. For 47 years, from 1976 to 2023, Diane served diligently at the United States Postal Service, where her gentle nature and unwavering work ethic earned her the respect and affection of her colleagues.
In 2006, Diane's heart led her to the beautiful shores of Hawaii, where she married the love of her life, William Allan White. Together, they blended a family that would be filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Diane's legacy is carried on by her surviving husband, Bill; her son, David LeVeque; her daughter, Rhiannon LeVeque; six stepchildren whom she adored; fifteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her life.
Her siblings, Annette (Richard) Ott, Theresa (Paul) Kraus, Patrick (Cathy) Fillwock, and Kenneth (Diana) Fillwock, and Robert (Claudia) Filwock will hold dear the many moments they shared. Diane was predeceased by her parents, her second husband Douglas Willard, and her brother David. Each of these individuals held a special place in Diane's heart, and she is now reunited with them in eternal peace.
Diane's interests were a reflection of her loving and gentle spirit. She had an extraordinary talent for crocheting, needlepoint, and creating beautiful handmade Barbie clothes. Her artistic abilities were evident in the numerous afghans she lovingly crafted for everyone fortunate enough to receive one. Pink, the color of warmth and tenderness, was her favorite, and it perfectly symbolized her nurturing essence. Diane was also an avid collector of Barbies, a hobby that brought her immense pleasure throughout her life.
Words alone cannot capture the essence of Diane's kind and gentle soul. She was the embodiment of love, always putting others before herself and spreading kindness wherever she went. Her presence was a comfort, her smile a light in the lives of all who knew her.
As we bid farewell to Diane, we celebrate a life lived with grace and generosity. Her spirit will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know her, and her memory will be cherished forever in the hearts of her beloved family and friends. Diane's journey on this earth may have come to a close, but her story will be told for generations to come, a narrative of a woman who truly made the world a better place by simply being in it.
