Dieter Huth Obituary

Dieter F. Huth, born January 13, 1940 in Magdeburg, Germany, passed away on May 28, 2025.
He was predeceased by his parents, Wilhelm and Maria (nee Cords) Huth. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Nancy (nee Mathias); two sisters, Helga Poetschke and Christianne Schumacher; as well as niece, Claudia Funck.
Dieter grew up in the town of Radevormwald, near Cologne in Germany. After living through the difficult war years and post-war deprivations, he pursued his education, first as a textile engineer in the city of Wuppertal and later, after studying in Aachen, as a chemistry teacher in Duesseldorf.
He met his American wife, Nancy on a trip to Greece in 1973. In 2005, he and Nancy moved to Middlefield, Ohio.
Dieter was proud to become a dual German/American citizen in 2014. In retirement, he traveled around the Cleveland area presenting slide programs on Germany. His talk, "Growing up as a child during World War II" was especially popular!
He moved to Summit Pointe in Macedonia, Ohio with his wife in 2019.
Dieter was the eternal student, always eager to learn. He loved to travel, read and visit art museums. He will be missed by all who knew him!

A service will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Hillcrest Cemetery in the Gall Hall chapel, 26700 Aurora Rd., Bedford Heights, OH 44146.
