Rosendale - Don Frederick Beale, 78, of Rosendale died Wednesday July 16, 2025 at his home. He was born in White Plains May 5, 1947 a son of the late Betty Mansfield Beale Glass and Don Alfredo Beale. His stepfather George Glass also died previously.
A longtime Rosendale resident, Don had been employed as 7th grade Social Studies teacher at the Highland Middle School prior to his retirement. He was also a Historian and a former Civil War reenactor with 10th Calvary Company B. He was a former member of the 23rd Regiment of Fort Royal Welch Fuseliers of America, former member of the British Brigade reenactors and former Commander of the 16th Queens Light Dragoons reenactors.
Don is survived by his wife, Hella Freitag Beale, a sister in law Marlis Henke of Australia, 2 nephews, Fritz Hasenkopf and Peter Hasenkopf.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held Sunday July 27, 2025 from 2 PM to 4 PM at the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. Cremation was held privately.
