Don Marvin Howard, lovingly known by many as "Old Man" and "Shorty," was born on June 12, 1946 in Camden to William Edward Howard and Ora Bell (Dodson). He passed away peacefully on July 15, 2025, at his home in Austin, Arkansas, at the age of 79. A true jack-of-all-trades and a natural problem solver, Don lived a life full of heart, hard work, and humor. He proudly served in the Army National Guard and spent many years on the road as a truck driver for Borden Dairy before working as a skilled HVACR technician. No matter the task, Don could fix just about anything and if he couldn't, he'd find a clever way to make it work. Don was happiest outdoors, whether he was fishing, tending to his garden, or working with his bees. He had a soft spot for animals and was a loving caretaker to his many fur babies. His quick wit, giving spirit and ornery charm made him unforgettable to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Edward Howard and Ora Bell (Dodson).

He is survived by his son, Jason Howard (Amanda); his beloved grandchildren, Kenzie and Blake Howard; his cherished fur babies; his brothers, Eddie and Johnny; sisters, Carol and Betty; and a host of nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly.

He often left loved ones with a grin and a simple "Later" or "Be cool"-parting words that now feel like a soft goodbye from a man who left this world just as he lived in it: cool, clever, and deeply loved.

The family will have a private service at a later date. Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
