Franklin Donald "Don" Tielking, 88 of Blountsville passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born July 17, 1936, in Blount County, the son of James Alfred Tielking and Ida Monroe Helms Tielking. He was a graduate of JB Pennington High School, Class of 1957 and received his Barber Degree from Calhoun Community College. He was a barber for 60 years, retiring at the age of 85.
He is survived by his Wife: Lucy Holcomb Tielking; daughter: Valinda Kent (Jerry); son: Donald Brent Tielking; grandchildren: Jason Kent (Laura), Vanessa Watkins Harris (Ian), Ben Tielking, Courtney Nicole Spivey (Alex), Ashley Brooke Vick (Saul) and Dalton James Tielking (Taylor); great grandchildren: Mary Grace Watkins, Eliza Spivey, Haddie Spivey and Skyle Vick; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Mary Frances Wilson Tielking, parents: James and Ida Tielking; brothers: James Norman Tielking and Hugh Lendon Tielking.
Funeral Service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2025, at New Emmaus Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Kyle Blakeley and Brother Wes Lowrey officiating. The burial will be in Brock's Chapel Cemetery, Union Grove, Alabama, Blountsville Funeral Home directing.
Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Sunday at New Emmaus Missionary Baptist Church.
Pallbearers: Jason Kent, Ian Harris, Caleb Bailey, Joey Scaggs, Dalton Tielking and Alex Spivey.
