Don William Unger, 67, of Edgar, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at U.W. Hospital in Madison.
He was born on February 25, 1958 to Don and Julia (Boyle) Unger in Dayton, Ohio. He married Nancy Gleason in 1981 in Lombard, Illinois. Don worked as a union tile setter, truck driver, and most recently as the "Candy Man" custodian for the Edgar School District.
Don enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family, was an avid Cleveland sports fan, and loved music and Christmastime. He especially loved wacky music and ABBA. He will be remembered by all for his infectious personality and ability to touch the lives of those he met. Don will also be remembered fondly as the number one best golfer in the family.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Unger; children, Krystle (Dillon) Lang, Scott Unger (Angel Paxton), and Kevin (Patricia) Unger; mother, Julia Unger; and siblings, Ron (Shelly) Unger, Kathy Unger (Don Geier), and Dan Unger. He was the best grandpa to his grandchildren, Cadence, Dylan, Oliver, Kaleb, Blake, and Haisley.
He was preceded in death by his father, Don Unger; and daughters, Colleen and Katie Unger.
