Donald Herbert Bauer, age 93, of Bay City, formerly of Sebewaing, passed away June 21, 2025, at Niche Aging Center in Bay City.
Donald was born in Sebewaing on January 13, 1932, to Herbert and Mabel (Mammel) Bauer. He graduated from Sebewaing High School in 1950 and served in the United States Army. He married Sharon (Knaggs) Cook on June 30, 1984. Don owned and operated Millerwise TV & Appliance in Sebewaing for many years. He enjoyed flying, rebuilding airplanes, traveling to many air shows, camping, yardwork, woodworking and carpentry. Don was a member of the American Legion Post #7 in Caro, the Sebewaing Sportsman's VFW and the EAA Chapter 159 (Experimental Aircraft Association). He also was a lifelong member at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing and headed up the Radio Mission for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his new friend at the Niche Aging Center, Sonia, where they conversed in German with each other. He also enjoyed the dogs, Iris and Dax at the Niche Center. A special thank you goes to all the staff at the Niche home, especially Caitlyn as well as Valley Hospice for their attention and care.
Donald is survived by his wife, Sharon; children: Sandra (Larry) Marks, Mary Schulz, Brian Cook and Kevin (Tonya) Cook; grandchildren: Terry (Gina) Schulz, Crystal (Scott) Bollman, Brandon (Cortney) Marks, Kaitlyn Cook and Tommy (Holly) Cook; great grandchildren: Tyler, Alex, Karl, Roy, Megan, Everly, Harrison Barrett, and Frankie.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Officiating will be Pastor Michael Boyer and Pastor Charles Kuhl. Burial will be at Northlawn Cemetery in Sebewaing.
Memorial donations may be given to the Radio Mission or Immanuel Lutheran Church.
