Donald L. Dalton passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025, at the age of 78.
Born in Ossining, NY on November 6, 1946, Donald graduated from Ossining High School and went on to proudly serve his country as a United States Marine Corps. A highly decorated veteran, he was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Presidential Unit Citation, honors that reflected his bravery, sacrifice, and dedication to his fellow Marines and his nation. Donald was a devoted member of the Peekskill Yacht Club for over 25 years, where he found great joy in lasting friendships among fellow members. Donald worked for Con Edison in 1973 and retired in 2001, following a career at Entergy and retired in 2004.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Phyllis Dalton; his sons Steven Dalton (Michelle) and Darryl Dalton (Marie Carpanzano); his cherished grandchildren Justin, Nicholas, and Madison; and his loving siblings Lyle (Jackie) Dalton, William "Billy" Dalton, and Nancy Dalton Wood. He is also survived by his aunts, Bernice Pavone and Laura Posada, and several nieces and nephews, all of whom he held close to his heart.
Donald was predeceased by his son Mark Dalton and his brother Gaetano Dalton.
Donald will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty, strength, and deep love for his family and country
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at O'Mara & Carpentieri Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 18, at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick's Church, followed by interment at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
