Donald Richard Davis passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in Perry, Iowa.
Donald was born on November 5, 1937, to Glen and Marie (Sawin) Davis. Donald graduated in 1955 with his high school diploma from Albion, Iowa. After high school Donald became an over the road truck driver and drove for many years for Heartland Express. He married the love of his life Frances in Bethany, Missouri on April 16, 1961.
He was an active member of the Sons of The American Legion. Donald even once in 2023 served as the Honorary Parade Marshal for the Memorial Day parade. When he wasn't spending his time on the road he loved to fish and camp often taking trips to Minnesota. Family was very important to him, and he cherished spending time with his wife, grandchildren and his niece.
Donald is survived by his wife of sixty-four years Frances; one grandchild Eric (Amber) Davis; Three great grandchildren; Alexis (Tristan) Davis, Lillian Davis and Spencer Davis, and one niece Ruth Ann (Randy) Gilgen.
He was preceded. in death by his parents; three sons Dennis, Duane and Lester Davis and one brother.
