Donald Horine Obituary

Donald K. Horine passed away July 19, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born October 13, 1952, in Norborne, Missouri to Kenneth and Dorothy Henderson Horine. He attended Norborne grade school and graduated from Carrollton High School in 1970. Don has farmed his entire life in Carroll County. He was a very good farmer. His biggest enemy was Wakenda Creek. He married Sandra Stroud (Sandy) in June of 1974. They had 51 years together with plenty of ups and downs, but it was a wonderful ride. To this family was born: Wyatt Horine, Carla Horine Hardwick, Jeremy Hardwick, Melissa Horine Bode, and Justin Bode; and four much loved grandchildren: Saige, Nate, Keller, and Lainey. Don served on Combs Township Board but most of his time was spent farming. He loved his children, grandchildren, and his 1957 two-door hardtop BelAir, which he has had longer than Sandy. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Bittiker Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to HELP Services cancer fund.
