Dillon - Donald Wayne Lyell, 80, passed away after a brief illness at McLeod Medical Center in Dillon May 2, 2025. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Monday May 5, 2025 at the First Baptist Church in Dillon, Jamie Arnette officiating, with interment in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the Church prior to the service. Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon is assisting the family.

Don was born in Old Hickory, TN June 21, 1944, the son of the late Percy Howard Lyell and Evelyn M. Martin Lyell. He retired from Dixiana Mills as a Quality Control Manager. He served as the Secretary of the Dillon Lions Club for many years. Don was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dillon. He always enjoyed a round of golf with his friends. When he wasn't on a golf course he was on a boat or fishing.

Don is survived by his wife Becky Stevens Lyell of the home; brother Phillip Ray Lyell (Kay) of Aiken, SC; and granddaughter, Dr. Autumn Lyell-Hedgepeth (Curtis Hedgepeth) of Batesburg, SC. He was predeceased by his brother, Ronald Martin Lyell; and sons, Wayne Lyell and Michael Lyell.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, 400 North 4th Ave. Dillon, SC 29536.
