Donald "Eddie" Mathias Vienna, Ohio formerly of Wardensville, WV passed away on June 7, 2025 at his home at the age of 88 surrounded by his loving family. Born May 12, 1937 in Mathias, WV. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lenora Miller Mathias who he married on November 26, 1957.
He was a veteran of the Army 4th Armored Division. Don "Eddie" moved his family to Warren, Ohio in 1958 and was employed by Packard Electric Division of General Motors for 30 years. He was a Member of Mahoning Masonic Lodge #396 Niles, Ohio. After retirement, Don and Lee moved back to Wardensville WV building their dream home on the family farm. After a time, they moved back to Ohio to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Don loved golfing and watching all Cleveland Sports Teams especially the Cleveland Guardians.
He is survived by his two daughters, Susan (John) Hill Hubbard, Ohio and Julie (Michael) Hagood of Vienna Ohio. Two sons, Larry (Susan) Brill Mt Vernon, Ohio and James Mathias of Delaware, Ohio. Seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He will be laid to rest beside Lee at Mt Vernon Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make any donations to the Capon Valley Fire Co Wardensville, WV in his name.
