Donald (Don) William McLeod III, age 61, of Lewisville, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Born in Evanston, Illinois, Don lived a life defined by intelligence, resilience, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. A gifted computer programmer, he worked for IBM and was admired by colleagues for his sharp mind and quiet determination. After retiring early due to disability, Don continued to pursue his passions and personal growth - running several marathons and earning master's degrees in both Computer Science and Financial Engineering. He also nurtured a lifelong love of music - first through playing the violin in his younger years and later by blasting classic rock with unmistakable joy.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Patti; his mother, Erika Strasser; his children, Donald IV (Mara), Christopher (Tracey), and Andrew (Karina); his brother, Paul McLeod; and nine cherished grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald McLeod Jr., and his brother, Michael McLeod.
A public funeral Mass will be held at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Flower Mound, Texas, on July 5, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity supporting mental health.
He will be remembered for his kind spirit, quick wit and the steady, unwavering love he gave to his family.
