Kathleen MacFeat Benoit, 92, of Stafford Springs, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, on December 20, 1932, daughter of the late Anthony and Elizabeth (Reid) O'Hare, Kathleen was raised in Philadelphia and lived in Havertown, PA, graduating from John W. Hallahan High School, before settling in Somers in 1973.
She married Albert "Bud" MacFeat on December 29, 1951, and together they raised their family in Somers. After Albert's passing in 1995, she later married William Benoit, and they shared many happy years together until his passing in 2020.
Kathleen was a longtime communicant and CCD teacher at All Saints Church in Somers. Her faith and family were central to her life, and she was deeply devoted to both.
She was predeceased by three of her children, Thomas and Jerry MacFeat and Marianne Woytowicz and her husband Ed; two grandchildren, Teddy Woytowicz and Mary Theresa MacFeat; her daughter-in-law, Susan MacFeat; her step-son, Paul Benoit; and six siblings, Rory O'Hare, Gladys Fisher, Peggy Wright, Jim O'Hare, Eamon O'Hare, and Anthony O'Hare.
Kathleen is survived by her children, James MacFeat and his wife Josie of Stafford Springs, Paul MacFeat, Matt MacFeat, and Karen MacFeat, all of Somers; her daughter-in-law, LeeAnn MacFeat; her sister, Maureen Mawson of Furlong, PA; her stepchildren, William Benoit and his wife Mary of Stafford Springs, and Mark Benoit and his wife Heidi of Enfield; as well as 28 beloved grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Her family will receive friends on Friday, October 24, from 5–8 p.m. at Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main St., Somers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 25, at 11 a.m. at All Saints Church, Somers. Please meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Somers Center Cemetery.
