Donald "Don" Ray Pemberton, 83, Breckenridge, MO, passed away on July 5, 2025, in Breckenridge, MO. He moved to Breckenridge in 1993.
Don was born on February 13, 1942, in Edwardsville, Kansas, to Raymond L. and Susie M. (Sons) Pemberton. Don honorably served his country in the Marines and was discharged on October 15, 1959. He was a lieutenant with the Department of Corrections and worked at the prison in Moberly, MO, before being employed and retiring from Western Missouri Correctional Center in Cameron.
In his free time Don enjoyed mechanics, hunting and fishing, bowling, and most especially woodworking. He was always making something creatively out of wood. He also loved to spend time with and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceding Don in death were his parents and 8 siblings-Roger, Junior, Warren, Willie, Jim, Kathy Baker-Witt, Dorles Ruby and Martha Young.
On October 7, 1989, he married Leatha "Lea" Smith in Cameron, MO. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include his children-John E. (Cheryl) Pemberton, Belton, MO; James (Mary Ann) Pemberton, Independence, MO; Bonnie (Jerry) Morris, Osawatomie, KS; Sherry Ann (Pat) O'Neill, Adrian, MO; Corrie Galindo, Kansas City, MO; and Jesse Pemberton (Cheyenne Bannan), Breckenridge, MO; grandchildren-Charlie Henderson, Jose' Torres, Clinton Pemberton, Cambrie Pemberton, Denise Pemberton, Anthony Pemberton, Cash Vaca, Shawn O'Neill, Donald Ray Pemberton, Adam Morris, Shane Morris, Lavona Brooks, Christopher Pemberton, James Pemberton, Sherice Pemberton, Sophia Pemberton, Alesandra Morris, and Crysandra Corriveau; numerous great grandchildren; and 1 sister-Norma.
Graveside Service and Interment: 11 a.m., Friday, July 11, 2025, at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Breckenridge, MO.
Formal Visitation: 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., on Friday, July 11, at the Breckenridge, MO., school gymnasium.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospitals in care of the funeral home.
