Donald Edward Ritz

07/06/1934 – 06/22/2025

Don and Faywray married July 25, 1954. Don worked at the gas station in Otis Junction Their first two

children, Nancy and Randy, were born there. In 1962, Don was offered employment in Brookings. They

relocated and welcomed daughter Jana in 1966. In 1978 they opened Ritz's Repair where Don did heavy

equipment repairs. When he retired, son Randy assumed the business.

Don enjoyed silhouette gun competition, winning many state, national and international awards; even in

retirement, outshooting "youngsters" and achieving a perfect score. Fay served as spotter. They enjoyed

the Merlin, Oregon club. Don and Fay were known for their mischievous senses of humor, love for their

community, welcoming friends and strangers into their lives and hearts.

Don was preceded by his wife, Faywray Nicholson Ritz, on February 5, 2020. He is survived by his

children: Nancy Ritz Tamura, Randall Ray Ritz and Jana Marie Ritz (Shacon); siblings: Bob Ritz (Terry),

Judi Manning and Jim Ritz (Gayl); 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at the Brookings Elks Lodge #1934, 800 Elk Drive, Brookings, on

Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 11 am to 1 pm. Please join us for the food and memories.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the "Michael J. Fox Foundation" or the "ALZ Alzheimer's

Foundation" in their names.
