Donald Elwood Russell, a beloved figure in his community and a cherished family member, passed away peacefully at his home in Richmond County, North Carolina on June 12, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on December 19, 1945, in Richmond County, Donald was known for his kind heart and humorous spirit, which made him a joy to be around.
Donald led a fulfilling life, celebrating milestones both personally and professionally. Russell; his mother, Gracie Greene Russell; his step-son, Mark Thomas Guinn; his grandson, Zachery Wayne Thornton; Son-In-Law Kevin Grooms and brothers Richard, Noah, Jimmy, and Howard Russell, all of whom he missed dearly.
