Donna Kay Bates, 69, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at her home in Pennington Gap, Virginia.
Donna was born on October 2, 1955 to the late Lawrence and Rosa Scott.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, David Charles Bates Sr.; two sisters, Elizabeth Ann Oxendine and Patsy Ruth Millsap.
Those left to cherish her memory is her son, David Bates Jr. and wife Shannon; three sisters, Susan Brown, Jennifer Scott, and Gloria Jean Scott; two brothers, Terry Scott and Lawrence Scott Jr.; four grandchildren, Kayleigh, Alex, Abigail, and Jonathan; four great grandchildren, Caroline, Charleigh, Hadley, and Ellie.
Per the family's wishes, Donna will be cremated with no formal services.
Donna Kay Bates and her family are in the care of Pennington Gap Funeral Home.

I will miss you "little" sister. I will always love you and I shall remember all the fun times that we had. I know you are with David now and with the Lord. There is no more pain or hurt. I is now time for you to rest. I will forever miss you!
