MRS. DONNA KAY HUTCHINSON NeSMITH, age 66, of Eastman, GA, died Saturday, June 28, 2025, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Tuesday, July 1, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Myron Parkerson officiating, with interment in Roddy Cemetery.
Donna was born on December 11, 1958, in Pontiac, MI to Phyllis Mooney Hutchinson and the late Ray Lamar Hutchinson. She attended school at Pontiac Northern High School before moving to Chester, GA with her family in 1978 at the age of 19. After moving to Georgia, she attended Oconee Fall Line Technical College in Dublin, GA, where she studied accounting. She later worked at Flash Foods in Dexter, and also East Dublin as a store clerk for several years. Donna later worked for C & J Manufacturing in Eastman before working for P.L. Garment Factory in Dublin as a textile worker for a few years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, and sister who was adored by her family, especially her grandchildren, and was proud of each and every one of them. She was of the Christian faith, enjoyed cooking for her family, taking trips to the beach, scrolling Facebook, and reading. Along with her family, Donna was preceded in death by her Brother, David Hutchinson.
She is survived by her Daughter – Julia Leverette (Chris) of Gray, GA; Son – Joshua Fowler (April) of Katheen, GA; Former Husband – Jeffrey Dwayne NeSmith of Eastman, GA; Grandchildren – Aaliyah Giddens, Kayla Giddens, Okela Neesmith, Alex Giddens, Gabriella Fowler, Gracie Fowler, and Gabe Fowler; Great-Grandson – Reid Bagley; Mother – Phyllis Mooney Hutchinson of Cochran, GA; Sisters – Lisa Orange (Charlie) of Dublin, GA and Carol Rozar (Charlie) of Gresston, GA; Brothers – Brian Hutchinson (Lisa) of Forsyth, GA and James Hutchinson (Gwendoline) of Cochran, GA; Sister-in-law – Priscilla Hutchinson of Eastman, GA; Aunt – Charlotte Perez (Jesse) of Christmas, FL; Several nieces and nephews; Numerous cousins including a special cousins, Jane Regentine (Michael) of Christmas, FL and Ronnie Mooney (Rosemary) of Lapeer, MI; Faithful Canine Companion - Lucy.
The family will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 2:00PM-3:00PM Tuesday, July 1. In addition to flowers, the family requests contributions to the American Diabetes Association, https://donors.diabetes.org/.

Donna was such a sweet girl, she was my first cousin and we all used to play together as kids. Here are photos of Donna with her parents, Uncle Ray and Aunt Phyllis. They were all such a loving and caring family. Donna will live on through her many children and Grand children. God bless.
