Donna Lea Praeger, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025, in Northville, Michigan, at the age of 82. Born on October 6, 1942, in Detroit, to the late Emma Lou and Harold Storment, Donna's life was a testament to the joy and love she brought into the world.
Donna's interests were as lively as her personality. She had a passion for spending time with her family, whether it was a quiet evening at home or an exciting outing. Her competitive spirit shone brightly during her visits to the casino, where she reveled in playing cards with friends and strangers alike. Bowling was another of Donna's favorite pastimes, and her presence at the bowling alley was always a source of joy and camaraderie.
Family was the cornerstone of Donna's life. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Melissa Zimmerman, who, alongside her husband Matt, gave Donna the joy of being a Nana to Aubrey, Cate, and Juliette. Donna's role as a Nana was one she cherished deeply, and the bonds she formed with her grandchildren were unbreakable. Her love for her family was palpable, and the countless memories they created together will be treasured forever.
Donna's life will be honored and remembered in the hearts of her beloved family and the many friends who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her extraordinary spirit. Her laughter, her love, and her light will never be forgotten.
A memorial service for Donna will take place June 28, 10am, at Romeo United Methodist Church, 280 N Main St, Romeo, 48065.
