Donna Lurine Watts, age 56, of Woodworth, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones.
Donna is survived by her three beloved sons, Jerome Duncan (Sarah), Ray Rayner, and Dustin Rayner; and five cherished grandchildren, Gabe Duncan, Lili Duncan, Luke Duncan, Kate Duncan, and Morgan Shawn Rayner.
Donna's children were her world, and there was never a moment she wasn't proud of them. She spoke often of their accomplishments, both big and small, and the deep love she held for them was evident in everything she did. Being their mother was her greatest joy and proudest achievement; a role she embraced with all her heart.
She is also survived by her devoted mother, Diana Watts, who remained faithfully by her daughter's side throughout this difficult journey, offering the kind of care and love only a mother can give. She is also survived by her only sibling, her brother, Robert "Robbie" Watts (Dody), with whom she shared the irreplaceable bond of a brother and sister, one rooted in shared memories, quiet understanding, and unwavering love. As a big sister, Donna was fiercely protective of Robbie, and she cherished every moment they spent together, always watching over him with love. She is also survived by her nephew, Dalton Watts, and her niece, Ariana Watts, whom she loved as her own children. Donna's bond with them was strong and unwavering, and she cherished them with a depth of love and care that knew no bounds.
She was preceded in death by her father, Glen Wayne Watts, with whom she is now joyfully reunited, no doubt casting lines together on the lakes of heaven, preparing for the fish fry reunion we'll all share one day.
Those also left to cherish her memory include her close cousin, Iris "Lorinda" Watts, who was more like a sister than a cousin; her former sisters-in-law, Katie and Crystal, with whom the love and bond of sisterhood remained unbroken through the years; her dear lifelong friend, Maridia; and a host of extended family and friends whose lives were touched by her love and kindness.
Donna loved the outdoors and treasured every moment spent with her family. Known for her loyalty, warmth, and generous spirit, she was always ready to lend a helping hand. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt; roles she embraced with unwavering dedication and affection.
Among her greatest joys in life was being a full-time grandmother, especially as the devoted caregiver to her youngest grandson, Morgan, over whom she constantly doted. Her strength, compassion, and devotion to her family were an inspiration to all who knew her.
This isn't goodbye, but rather, "See you when we get there. Save us the best fishing spot."
In honor of Donna's memory, let us carry forward the fierce loyalty and unconditional love she so freely gave. Be the friend who shows up, help those in need without hesitation, and live each day with the heart and urgency of someone who knows how precious time truly is.
