Mr. Donnie Cox, age 77 of Anderson, passed away at his home on July 9, 2025. Visitation will be held at the Word of Truth Baptist Church from 9:00am-10:30am on Saturday, July 12. Graveside services will follow the visitation at Mitchell Cemetery beginning at 11am and will be officiated by Mr. Jerry Marlow.
Donnie is preceded in death by his parents, ImmaDean and James Marshall "Cotton" Porter. He is survived by his wife Linda Cox. Sons Chris Cox, Anthony Cox, and daughter Whitney (Nick) Springer all of Rogersville. Grandchildren Colbey (Bethany) Cox of Rogersville, MaKayla (Bradley Brooks) Cox of Moulton, and Molly Mae Springer of Rogersville. Great-Granddaughters Gracyn Brooks and Abby Grace Cox. Sister, Martha (Marty) Michael, Carolyn (Timmy) Gibson both of Lexington. Many nieces and nephews and close friends.
Donnie was a hardworking brick mason for 51 years and was very involved with the Anderson community. He loved coffee and enjoyed supporting local sports teams by smoking chickens for fundraisers. He had a personality that everyone was drawn to.
The family would like to thank Southern Care New Beacon Hospice, friend, Roger Hamlin, many other friends and family that have helped these last few weeks with his care.
Pallbearers for the service will be Colbey Cox, Bradley Brooks, Terry Cameron, Kip Williams, Frankie Williams, and Roger Hamlin.
Elkins East Chapel in Killen is assisting the family.
