Doris Ann Barrons, departed this world on June 6, 2025, at the age of 84, in the comfort of her home in Vassar, MI. Born on July 6, 1940, in Bay City, daughter of the late George and Evelyn (Gwizdala) LaRoche. Doris's life was a tapestry of dedication to her family, a successful career, and a zest for life's simple pleasures.
A proud graduate of Owen-Gage High School, Doris's work ethic shone brightly throughout her career. After a brief tenure at Blue Cross Blue Shield, she embarked on a fulfilling 30-year journey at Saginaw Steering Gear Plant 3, from which she retired.
Doris's interests painted the picture of a woman who embraced the joy of living. Whether it was the thrill of a casino, the serenity of the ocean, or the excitement of travel, she was always ready for an adventure. Her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, were the cornerstone of her existence. Doris relished sharing sweet snacks and creating memories at plays and musicals.
Doris's legacy is carried on by her children, Sherry (Jeff Kinsella) Barrons, Mark (Birgitt Tanner) Deering, Deann (Jim Schauman) Luana, and Kristy (Bob Hinson) Deering. Her love will continue to bloom in the hearts of her grandchildren, Alex Barrons, Brett Deering, Ryan (Amber) Johnson, Lydia Koehler, Emily (Jordan Rookus) Rookus-Koehler, Kristen (Vinnie) Curnutt and Cody Orban as well as her great-grandchildren, Aidyn, Jayden, David, Cheyanne, Matthew, Savannah, Logan, and Landen. Doris's spirit is also cherished by her siblings, Janet (Terry) Cieslinski, Kathy Reeder, and Tom (Wendy) LaRoche; sisters-in-law Gail LaRoche and Joyce LaRoche, along with many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by beloved grandson Austin Deering and siblings George LaRoche and James LaRoche.
A celebration of Doris life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home - Reese Chapel, located at 9940 Saginaw St, Reese. Friends and loved ones are welcome to pay their respects on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
