Doris Chapman Obituary

Newmarket - Doris Chapman, 88, formerly of Ash Swamp Road, died peacefully July 6, 2025 at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood.
Born Oct. 20, 1936, in Brentwood, she was the daughter of Claudio and Clarisse (Archambeault) LeBeau and was a lifelong resident of Newmarket.
Doris was a lifelong member of St Mary Catholic Church, was a student at St. Mary Catholic School and attended Saturday night Mass regularly.
Doris worked as a skiver in various shoe shops in Newmarket and Epping. She then worked for eighteen years at Ames in Stratham.
Doris was a member of the Newmarket Senior Citizens Group. Where she loved to socialize, attend events, go on trips and play bingo.
Doris loved to dance. She tried to teach her children and grandchildren the Jitterbug, the twist and the stroll. Although we may not have mastered the dances, the lessons always ended in laughter. Those are memories we'll always cherish. Doris enjoyed feeding the birds, watching the deer in her back field especially the fawns and the occasional bear sighting.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband George F. Chapman Sr., brothers, Bill, Peter and Raymond LeBeau, and her sister, Theresa Mailhot.
Doris is survived by her two children, George Chapman Jr. and his wife Donna of Fernandina Beach, Fl, and Susan Desjardins and her husband Michael of Rochester; three grandchildren, Randy Bernier of Nottingham, Andrew Desjardins and his fiancé Heather of Manchester, and Christina Guevara and her husband Rommel of Pittsburgh PA; three great grandchildren Mason, Macayla and Mateo; sister, Yvonne Cassell of Maine; many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, July 13th from 3 - 6 pm at the Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home & Crematory, 77 Exeter Road (Route 108), Newmarket.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Church, Newmarket, on Monday, July 14th at 11 am. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Newmarket.
