Doris Jean Young Johnson age 87, of Chickamauga, Georgia went home to be with The Lord – Sunday – September 28, 2025. She was born in Fort Payne, Alabama to the late Clifford David and Verna Estell Roden Young. She was a homemaker and enjoyed taking family trips to the beach. She was a member of Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church and an active member of the Open Doors Sunday School Class. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth E. Johnson, Sr., their son-in-law: Glen Crutchfield, grandson: Curtis Scott Crutchfield, sister: Sara (Jim) Cannady. She is survived by her children: Vickie Crutchfield, Kenneth E. "Kenny" (Donna) Johnson, Jr., Allan (Lisa) Johnson, grandchildren: Matt (Evan) Crutchfield, Amanda (Grant) Harris, Adam (Haley) Crutchfield, Jillian (Andrew) Allred, Kendall (Seth) Gordon, Daniel Johnson, (Ivy Calvert), Ally Johnson, great-grandchildren: Ava, (Beau Barrett), Brock and Theo Crutchfield, Hudson Richardson, Nora Kate Allred, Mavrick Gordon, William Allred, Banner Gordon, Lucy Allred, several nieces and nephews; very special aunt, Nelda Pettyjohn and special friends, Glenda Holsonback and Mary Anna Johnson. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. and from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. – Wednesday – October 1, 2025 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Minister Marty Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens-South, Rossville, Georgia. Arrangements by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Homes - Fort Oglethorpe, GA. Online register book at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com
