Dorothy Evelyn Brooks of Fort Morgan passed peacefully to heaven surrounded by family on Monday, July 14, 2025, at the age of 74 at CommonSpirit St. Elizabeth Hospital in Fort Morgan. Dorothy was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on July 28, 1950, to Erich and Evelyn (Cannon) Paul. She moved to Fort Morgan with her family in 1962. She married Ron Brooks in 1968 and started a family. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan. Dorothy worked at Clark-Feather Mfg, Co., Western Sugar Co-Op, Morgan County, and the Morgan County School District over the years. She was a strong, independent woman and always persevered. She enjoyed watching the soaps with her amazing friend Drena who has been her friend since she moved to Colorado as a teenager. Having a big heart, she loved animals and spending time with her family and friends and was always willing to help. She was proceeded in death by her parents, grandson, Chandler Brooks, and brothers Dennis, Timothy and Steve Paul. She is survived by her daughter, Sherri (Bob) Amen, son, Lee (Cherie) Brooks of Longmont, grandsons, David and Devin (Stephanie) Amen, great-grandchildren, Chloe, Abbie, Aiden, Ava and Kade Amen, brothers, John, Don (Terri), Douglas (Judy) Paul, sisters, Jeanette (Jesse) Rodriguez and Judy (Tony) Ramirez, many nieces and nephews, beloved friends, and former husband, Ron Brooks Memorial services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church; 1215 W 7th Ave, in Fort Morgan at 10:00 am on her birthday, July 28th. Memorial donations may be made to NOCO Humane; Attn: Development; 1620 42nd St.; Evans, CO 80620.
