Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Caldwell, of Wisner will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at New Hope Apostolic Church in Leland with Rev. Chris Hamilton, Rev. Bobby Ratcliff and Rev. Kenneth Patten officiating. Interment will follow at South Central Cemetery in Wisner, under the direction of Young's Community Memorial. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church.
Dorothy was born on May 18, 1937, in Gilbert, LA and passed from this life on July 10, 2025, at her home in Wisner, LA, at the age of 88.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. James Ira Caldwell; her parents, Robert Walters and Myrtis Monell Hill Walters; grandsons, Raymond Lee Rushing, Jr. and James Clinton Rushing; brother Lloyd Walters, Johnny Burruss and Author Korn; sister, Freda Nell Poole; and son-in-law, Raymond Rushing, Sr.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Patsy Patten and husband Kenneth, Billy Caldwell and wife Dianne, Alice Jeanette Rushing, and Sheryl Ratcliff and husband Bobby; brother, Lynn Walters; sisters, Cindy Gunn, Judy Lively and Audrey Caldwell; she is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 27 great, grandchildren, 22 great, great, grandchildren plus a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Randy Caldwell, Wayne Caldwell, David Caldwell, JR Caldwell, Kendall Patten and Earl Maples, Jr.
Honorary pallbearer will be Todd Wilson.
