Dorothy Lou D'Haene, 86 years, of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. She passed away peacefully, in her home, with her loving family at her side. Born October 26, 1938 in McArthur, Ohio, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Thomas and Martha (Knolton) Morris. The family moved to Monroe when Dorothy was a child. She attended Lincoln Elementary School and was a 1956 graduate of Monroe High School. On September 26, 1956, Dorothy married her beloved husband, Robert J. D'Haene at St Mary Catholic Church in Monroe. Dorothy worked in the office at Federal's Department Store in Monroe. She then went to work as a Teacher's Aide for Monroe Public Schools working at Hollywood Elementary School for 25 years, from which she retired. Dorothy was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church where she was baptized and confirmed. She also helped with their soup luncheons and was a member of the Monroe Center for Healthy Aging. She enjoyed Facebooking, traveling, and having dinner with friends. She never enjoyed flying, so travel by train or road trips to Chicago, Toronto, or other various locations were her preference. Above all she loved family gatherings and time spent with family. Dorothy is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Bob, four loving daughters: Patricia A. (Aaron) Poley of Kalamazoo, Susan M. (Mark) Carollo of Monroe, Cynthia M. (James) McHone of Ida, and Deborah L. (Richard) Loughridge of Grass Lake, MI, nine cherished grandchildren, eight treasured great grandchildren, four precious great great grandchildren, a brother, David Morris and a son in law, Robert McKinney. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane McKinney, and a sister, Judy Evans. In keeping with Dorothy's wishes, visitation and funeral services will be private. She will be entombed at Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Alzheimer's Association. Sending big hugs and love to D'Haene family. Thinking of you all and remembering the good times through band concerts, marching band, Solo Ensemble, dinners. Dorothy and Bob were a part of my younger years being forever friends with Debbie. Love Annie
