Dorothy J. Delgado passed away peacefully July 13, 2025, at the age of 82. She was born September 25, 1942, the daughter of the late Basil G. Delgado, and Marie J. Delgado. Dorothy grew up in Kansas with two sisters and one brother.
Following in the footsteps of her father, she joined the US Army Reserves and served until she was honorably discharged on April 17, 1988. She was awarded the Army Achievement Medal on May 25, 1982. Dorothy was employed by Beechcraft in Wichita, KS and retired from that company.
Family was very important to Dorothy. She maintained a close and caring relationship with her parents until their death. Nieces and nephews remember Dorothy fondly as the "greatest Aunt" taking them on outings such as movies, amusement parks, and visits to nearby lakes.
Her brother, Kenneth Delgado, served in the United States Navy. Ken Delgado pre-deceased his sisters. Dorothy's survivors include two sisters, Josie and Gloria. Josie Gilligan lives in New York with her husband, sons, and grandchildren. Gloria Crain lives in Wichita with her husband. Their children reside in Iowa, Texas and Kansas with their own children and grandchildren.
Viewing followed by the Recitation of the Rosary at 10am, and the Funeral Mass at 10:30am, will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Derby Kansas on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. Dorothy will be laid to rest at El Paso Cemetery in Derby, Kansas.

I´m sorry to learn of Dorothy´s passing this month. We graduated together from Derby High School long ago, and she stayed in touch with news of our classmates through these years. Rest in peace, dear classmate.
