Dorothy Russell Obituary
Dorothy was born on February 23, 1930, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Marion (Trask) Moellering. She graduated from Iowa State University. On July 5, 1952, she was united in marriage to H. Everett Russell. They farmed outside of Morley, Iowa.
Dorothy was filled with positive energy and joy. She was never content just belonging to an organization, but served on boards, committees, and as an officer for so many. Dorothy Russell worked tirelessly to make her community, country, and the world a better place.
Family was very important to her, and not just immediate family. She cared about every niece, nephew, cousin, in-law, and all the friends who became family. Birthdays and anniversaries were never missed. In a time of trouble, a message would arrive just to show she cared when you needed it most.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Robert (Eileen Naughton) Russell, Beverly (David) Brandt, Lynn Russell, and Marilyn (Stuart) Halley; grandchildren, Julie (Jason) Olson, Michael (Christina) Brandt, Megan (Andriko Telka) Halley, Alayna (Thomas) Heether, and Ellyn (Jack Sullivan) Halley; great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Jackson, Jameson, Jack, and Audrey; and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Hope (Willis) Kuecker, Alberta (Don) Churchill, and Judith Cameron.
Memorials will be directed to favorite charities by the family. Or please donate to an organization of your choice that will make the world a better place.
