Dorothy Roselia Chlon Zido, 90, of Lansing Ohio passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, at her home.
Born on August 19, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, a daughter of the late Frank and Pauline Biega Chlon,
Dorothy lived a life filled with love, devotion, and joy.
Dorothy spent many years working as a garment worker for the former Bobbie Brooks Company, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic. Her interests in her younger years included playing basketball and enjoying the camaraderie of her bowling team. A passionate sports fan, she loved cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates, always ready to discuss the latest game with anyone who shared her enthusiasm.
A devout member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Bridgeport, Ohio, Dorothy's faith was a guiding force throughout her life. She was a faithful woman who found great comfort and community in her church.
In her later years, Dorothy cherished her time at the senior center, where she formed many treasured connections and engaged in numerous activities that kept her young at heart. She had a particular fondness for yard sales, delighting in the treasures and stories each one held.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband George Zido, siblings, Frank Jagaczewski, Chester Chlon, 'Sis' Chlon, and Walter Chlon.
Dorothy adored her family and was deeply loved by all who knew her. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support were constants in the lives of those fortunate enough to call her a friend. Her joyful spirit and zest for life left an indelible mark on everyone she met.
Left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Deborah (Greg) Kittles, and Paula (Kenneth) Huntsman, as well as grandchildren Sean (Amy) Higgs, Abbi Henry and Luke (Melissa) Henry, and beloved grandchildren, Dru and Emma Higgs and Aubrey Henry.
Honoring Dorothy's wishes, there will be no formal visitation. Private arrangements have been entrusted to CARE Funeral & Cremation Specialists, 204 W. Main Street, St. Clairsville Ohio.
Dorothy Roselia Zido will be remembered as a loving, spirited woman who lived her life with grace and joy, leaving behind a legacy of love and friendship.
