Douglas Michael Determan, 75 of Brainerd, MN, formerly Burnsville MN passed away June 25, 2025, after health complications. A service will be held at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis where Doug will be laid to rest.
Doug was born November 7,1949 to Ralph and Fern (Briese) Determan in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The oldest of six children. At a young age Doug joined the Navy and fought in the Vietnam war and was honorably discharged from the Military. Doug enjoyed being a professional over-the-road truck driver taking him to new cities often throughout the country. Doug retired in Brainerd, MN to appreciate the quiet life and fish the many lakes in the area.
Doug is survived by his five children, Phillip Determan, Beth Determan, Becky Determan, Joe Determan, and Shauna (David) Simon; 14 grandchildren; siblings, Carol (Doug) Abrahamson, Wayne Determan, Ron (Alice) Determan; Brian (Carrie) Determan; along with nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Doug is proceeded in death by his parents Ralph and Fern Determan; siblings, Sharon Spence and Ricky Determan.
Arrangements are entrusted to Halvorson Taylor Funeral Home, Brainerd.
