Douglas Dwaine Farris, went to be with his God on June 23, 2025, peacefully surrounded by his wife, children, a few close friends and his best friend, his dog, Donut. Doug was born on Aug 6, 1960, in Bartlesville to Dwain Allen and Willa Fay (Workman) Farris. He was a graduate of Nowata High School with the class of 1978, and soon after graduation he was married to Tammy Parrot. They had two children, Laramy and Jeremiah Farris. Doug received his Associate degree in Applied Science, from the Spartan School of Aeronautics with a specialty in helicopter maintenance. In 1999 he began dating his current wife, Josa, and they got married on 10/10/2010. Together they raised two children, Angel and Christian Farris. They have been together for over 26 years and for 20 of those years, Doug owned his own business, Farris Construction. Doug was a devoted family man spending time at different school functions, and always time for his family and friends. He touched the lives and hearts of everyone he knew. He loved his God and worked hard for his church, his family, and was always willing to share that special place in his heart for his animals, especially his dog Donut.
Doug is survived by his wife Josa Farris; 3 sons, Laramy, Jeremiah, and Christian; 1 daughter, Angel and husband Benjamin Hibbard; 2 granddaughters; his aunt Sherry and Uncle Chuck McCormick, his uncle Jack Lucy; a brother, Earl and his wife Susan; a sister, Cathy and her husband Larry Haffner; and a host of other relatives and friends. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, several aunts and uncles, 2 cousins, and 1 niece.
His life will be remembered with a Memorial Service on Wed., July 2, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel with Dean Bridges officiating.
