Douglas Holliday Obituary

Douglas McArthur Holliday, age 83, of Ionia passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family July 21, 2025. He was born March 23, 1942 in Hazard, Kentucky the son of Green and Naomi (Combs) Holliday.
Doug married the love of his life Ruthann Marie Miller May 2, 1970 in Lansing. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam, after returning home he worked for Melling Drop Forge in Lansing as a Press Operator for 30 years. Doug and Ruthann resided in Lansing for 35 years before moving to Ionia.
Doug was a member of the Saranac American Legion Post 175 and the Ionia Moose Lodge. He loved fishing, gardening, cooking and grilling out. Doug was known for his fried chicken and nachos along with several other family favorites.
He will be deeply missed by his family.
Surviving is his loving wife Ruthann M. Holliday of Ionia. Son, Anthony Douglas (KC) Holliday of Charlotte. Grandchildren, Victoria (Terran) Ellsworth, Jordan Holliday, Vanessa Holliday, Dominic Holliday, Adriana Holliday, Skylee Mitchell, Royce Mitchell, Ollionna Gentz and Dylenger Gentz. Great Grandson, Leland Ellsworth and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Tammy Covert and 3 sisters and 7 brothers.
