Douglas Wiegand Obituary

Douglas Bernard Wiegand, 72, of Kenockee Township, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at McLaren Macomb Hospital, Mount Clemens.
He was born July 17, 1952, in Brown City, the son of the late Bernard and Nadine (Kramer) Wiegand.
Douglas married Shelly Lynn King on September 16, 2006.
Doug worked for Ford Motor Company for 33 years before his retirement. He made sure to lead a very fruitful life both in and out of work; he was a local area fruit farmer and sold at many farmers' markets. Doug believed in 2nd chances, helping people in need, and always paying it forward. He was a practical jokester and brought smiles to many faces. He enjoyed hunting, trapping, snowmobiling, motorcycling, boating, traveling, and participating in draft horse events.
Surviving in addition to his wife Shelly are seven children, Shannon Wiegand, Rodney (Carrie) Wiegand, Michael Wiegand, Nicholas Reaume, Dennis Reaume, Chantelle Reaume, and Brian Reaume; grandchildren, Hannah (Brett) Schemansky, Eva (Brad) Strunk, Andrew Wiegand, Rodney and Rachel Wiegand, Amanda Verscheuren, Janelle (Richard) Carlyle, Todd (Shelley) Verschueren, Alaina Reaume, Alexis Olvera, Blake, Chloe, Aubrey, Owen, Lucky, and Aiden Reaume, Gary and Atticus Murdick, Brian and Arie Reaume; 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; mother of his children, Jayne Onyshkevich; his step-mother, Margaret Wiegand; siblings, Chris Hardy, Rose (Greg) Lawson, Lucy Puckett, Laurie Scott, Carole (Bob) MacLeod, and John Wiegand, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Rite of Christian Burial honoring Douglas will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with 10:00 a.m. visiting. Fr. Tom Kuehnemund, pastor will officiate. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Kaatz Funeral Directors, Yale.
