Services for Dovie Lou Ford are as follows: Visitation, Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Dowdy-Marker Funeral Home, 201 West Commercial St. Haskell, OK 74436. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at the First Baptist Church, Haskell, OK with the Rev. Gary McKeen officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Dovie Lou (Davis) Ford was born on September 8, 1934, in Pettigrew, Arkansas to Benjamin Harrison Davis and Almeda Mae (Kizzia) Davis-Riddle. She passed from this life on July 2, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years, 9 months and 24 days.
Dovie married Bill M. Ford on May 17, 1953. They were blessed with two daughters, Denise and Lisa. Bill and Dovie were married for more than 62 years at the time of his passing on September 29, 2015.
Dovie was best known for the time she spent working at Don's City Drug Store in Haskell, Oklahoma. She loved her church family at First Baptist Church and has many dear friends throughout the community.
Dovie was preceded in death by her parents, 8 siblings: Velma, Lois, Earl, Ershel, Ruth, Donna, Ann, and Joe. She was also preceded by 1 grandson, Blake Stricker.
She leaves behind her two daughters, Denise Ford and Lisa (Mark) Fleming, her grandchildren: Eric (Sherry) Brashear, Greg (Michelle) Brashear, Brook Ann (Josh) Brown, Ben Brashear, and Shane (Theresa) Staton, as well as numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Dovie lived a long life and touched many people over the years. May her memory live on in the lives she touched.
