Doyle "DR" Harris, age 77, of Rogers, passed away peacefully in his sleep with his family by his side at his residence on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. He was born in Temple, TX on June 4, 1948, to parents Raymond and Dorothy (Ralston) Harris and lived in Rogers his entire life.

He went and graduated from Rogers High School and was a faithful follower of Christ, being affiliated with the First Baptist Church in Rogers and a member of the Rogers community for all his years while here on this Earth. He would meet Bertha Smith and they would marry in November of 1971 at his mother's home in Rogers. They would also make their home in Rogers, start their family, and spend their years devoted to each other until his passing.

He was a die-hard Rogers Eagle, where he excelled in football and was an all-state Linebacker in 1965. You could find him at all sporting events cheered on the Eagles through thick and thin. Doyle worked for Wilsonart as a truck driver for 28 years until his retirement in 2000. He then went on to join AshCraft Trucking, where he would work with his really good friend Hunter AshCraft and son Tal AshCraft. He finished his trucking career working for Strasberger Farms. He loved driving his trucks and took pride in keeping his trucks clean and always detailed them himself. He had a very strong work ethic and was very proud of the career he chose.

DR loved sports and would often go to play in a softball league and would travel all over Texas playing in tournaments. If he wasn't playing softball you would find him playing card games or Domino's with his cousins and friends.

He then had the pleasure of coaching the youth of Rogers with Little League baseball for many years. He loved being able to pass his time, wisdom, and the love of the sports onto his children. DR also served on the Rogers city council for many years. Doyle's love for his family was immense, spending hours making memories with them and their friends in the Rogers area. DR was proud of his life and the family they created together. Bertha and Doyle cherished their grandkids, spending time teaching them about sports and just having the joy of making memories together, enjoying smiles, and laughter always.

DR was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha of Rogers; his daughter Dustie Ledger and husband Ashley of Salado and sons Coty Harris of Rogers and Bart Harris and wife Kristin of College Station, and stepson Scotty Unberhagen and wife Ericka of Bourne. DR is also survived by his sisters Tammy Ritcher of OH and Sheila Tircuit of Rogers. Niece and nephews Miranda Tircuit, Jacob Tircuit, Matthew Ritcher, and Stephen Ritcher. He was a proud grandfather of 6 grandchildren and also 2 great-grandchildren. He made many friends, and all his family will dearly miss him and mourn his passing, but he is now resting peacefully in the heavens above with his Lord.

In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Rogers memorial scholarship.

Services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Rogers, TX on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. The family will be accepting visitors from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. before services begin
