Duane Biewer, a devoted husband, loving father, hard worker, and avid sportsman, went to be with the Lord on August 1, 2025, at the age of 73.

Born and raised in Lidgerwood, ND, Duane had a deep love for the outdoors. He seemed to feel an indescribable happiness when in nature. He'd likely be found fishing on a quiet lake, but he did many things through his years, like training hunting dogs, tending to the horses, or hunting on a well-loved trail.

A man of a certain brand of personal integrity, Duane was also known for his unwavering work ethic and his commitment to being a provider. His mother, Elizabeth, and father, Michael, instilled this in him from a young age. This was a testament to his character, as he was known for his dedication and commitment, working for BNSF for 40 years, building lasting friendships along the way. Affectionately nicknamed "Beav" by many, he was known far and wide and cared for each person he encountered in his own way.

Above all, Duane cherished his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Ardelle, with whom he shared nearly five wonderful years of marriage. She challenged him to see that the joys of life were limitless, that there was always more to explore. Ardelle was diagnosed with cancer three years into their marriage, of which Duane stood by her side as she fought through it. When Duane was diagnosed with cancer in their fourth year together, she did everything in her power to make him comfortable through his treatments as well. They were brought together at a later point in life to be able to make some amazing memories before any illness came about, to really savor the fruits of life's labor.

Duane was also a proud father to his children. Kayla, Jeremy, Nichole, and Michael, and stepson, Gary, held five unique spots in his heart. He appreciated their individuality while taking great pride in their character, accomplishments, and the lives they built.

Duane is survived by his wife, Ardelle; his brother, Donald (Joyce); his children, Kayla, Jeremy, Nichole (William), and Michael (Gabrielle); his step son, Gary Schnieder (Rhonda); step daughters, Amanda Johnson and Ashley Nordstrom (Brandon); his grandchildren, Jerrick and Leo, children of Nichole, and Dane, child of Michael; step grandchildren, Devin and Dillon, children of Gary; Kendlee and Slade, children of Ashley. He is also survived by many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; by his first wife, Mary, mother of Kayla and Jeremy; and by Alice, mother of Nichole and Michael, with whom he shared many years of life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Michael Biewer.

Duane will be deeply missed by his family and an immense circle of friends who were touched by his humorous spirit and generous heart.
