Eddie Allen Borders, a dedicated minister and cherished family man, passed away on February 4, 2025, in Gainesville, GA, at the age of 77. Born on November 12, 1947, in Commerce, GA, he devoted his life to serving others and sharing his faith.
Eddie was a retired minister with Oak Grove Baptist Church in Morganton, GA, where he touched the lives of many in his congregation with his unwavering commitment to his ministry and the spiritual growth of his community. His sermons inspired those around him, instilling a sense of hope and faith in their lives.
In addition to his vocation, Eddie was a proud member of the Masons for over 50 years, where he formed lasting friendships and pursued a path of personal growth and community service. His dedication to both his faith and fraternity reflected his deep sense of duty and connection to others.
Eddie leaves behind his loving wife of 55 years, Barbara Bryant Borders, and their three children: daughters LaRue (Jason) Evans and Leslie (David) Foster, and son Bruce (Stacy) Borders. He was also the proud grandfather of five grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Alice Allen Borders, and his sister, Geraldine Borders.
A visitation will be held in Eddie's honor on February 7, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ivie Funeral Home located at 1053 S. Elm Street, Commerce, GA. A funeral service celebrating his life will take place the following day, February 8, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Oak Grove Baptist Church, located at 6591 Loving Rd., Morganton, GA, with interment to follow at the church cemetery. Eddie's body will lie in state from 12:30 until the funeral hour at the church.
Eddie Allen Borders will be remembered for his unwavering faith, profound impact on his community, and his loving spirit that resonated deeply with those who knew him. His legacy lives on through his family, who will cherish his memory forever.
