Eddie Lynn Kornegay Davis of Red Oak, TX has gone home to be with our Lord at home surrounded by family and friends on June 26, 2025.
She was born on September 22, 1949, to Edward Franklin and Allie Marie Kornegay.
Eddie Lynn always wanted a family, she meet and married her soul mate Milton Edward Davis on May 14, 1966. They had 3 children Sheila, Clay, and Lori. They were married for 53 years before our Lord called him home in 2019.
In her early years Eddie Lynn drove a school bus for Hobbs School District, she then went on to work in retail at Western Auto also in Hobbs, NM
However, her real job and passion were to be a wife and mother.
Eddie Lynn also loved our Lord and savior, she had a way to pray to God that was amazing and beautiful.
Eddie Lynn was best known for her crafting ability she could make anything out of everything. Give her a bleach bottle and the next thing you know she has made earrings and magnets and hair clips, Eddie Lynn's crafts were always out just in case she found the next project she wanted to work on. Growing up we always knew not to throw out items in case it could be masterfully recycled into something amazing. Eddie Lynn truly had a gift for ideas and crafts.
Eddie Lynn was also interested in genealogy, she traced our families back several decades.
Eddie Lynn was also known for being able to navigate getting to one place or another in the DFW area and never hit a freeway.
She is survived by her 3 children Sheila Ann Davis of the home, Edward Clayton "Clay" and Andra Davis of Red Oak Tx and Lori and Steven Wood of Italy Tx. She had several grandchildren Chelsea Byrd with her partner Matthew Muise, Kayla Davis, Karissa Davis, Kandace and Broderick Vien, Hunter and Alexis Wood, Angela and Erik Hotchkiss, Ashlyn and Danny Miller and 4 great grandchildren Jayson, Kolton and Serinity and Paislee. And one Sister Carolyn Lovett and dear friend Norma Pirkle Reed. Several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Milton Edward Davis, her granddaughter Rebecca LeAnn Byrd, her father Edward Franklin Kornegay. Her mother Allie Marie Kornegay. Her older sisters Charleen Casebeer, Donna Spears.
To celebrate Eddie Lynn's life, a visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from 6 to 8 in the evening at Midlothian Funeral Home. A service will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at 11 in the morning at Midlothian Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the family cemetery.
