Eddie Anthony Williams Jr., born to Gladys Elizabeth Shief and Eddie Anthony Williams Sr. on November 24,1952 in Convent, La. Buboo, as he was affectionally called as a child attended St Michael Elementary School and served as an Alter boy at St Michael the Archangel Church. It was there that he learned to pray the Rosary, something that would carry him throughout his life and would become a special bond between he and his mother as they prayed the Rosary two to three times a day during the final years of her life. As a child Eddie had a very special bond with his mother and maternal grandmother Pauline Simon. He resided with his family in Convent until his mother met his stepfather Stanley Depass, and the family moved to New Orleans.
Eddie attended Andrew J. Bell Highschool. However, his desire to serve in the United States Military was so great that he left school his senior year to become a Marine. Eddie was so proud to be a Marine and serve his country, and he often reminded everyone that he was and will always be a Marine.
In 1972, while working in the French Quarter, Eddie met Peggy Ann Wells. This meeting grew a special friendship which blossomed into a marriage 23 yrs later and Eddie became a bonus dad to 3 beautiful daughters.
Throughout his life Eddie worked many jobs, some of which include the Veterans Administration Hospital, New Orleans Fairgrounds, L and R Security and Tulane University Hospital. It was there at Tulane University Hospital, that he met Nadia Mackyeon, the person that he would share the last year of his life with and had hoped to share many many more years with.
Everyone who knew Eddie, knew how much he loved Blues Music. You could often find him sitting in his car listening to his old CDs. He also loved New Orleans culture. As a former member of the Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club, Eddie proudly designed and decorated hundreds of coconuts and participated with fellow club members in Mardi Gras festivities. Eddie was also a proud member of the Wild Tchoupitoulas Indian Tribe lead by Big Chief Bald Eagle, Roderick Sylvas.
Until his death, Eddie proudly served as Sergeant at Arms for the American Legion post 125 under the leadership of his dear friend Commander Bell.
To cherish his memory Eddie leaves his sister Gwendolyn Morton (Orville L.), wife Peggy Ann Williams, daughters LaShawn Wells-Baron
(George), Nakita Gray (Marcell), and Marquita Lee-Wells. Grandchildren Trestian Wells-Grant, Adrianna Grant, Christopher Grant, Aleah Grant, Keylin Lee-Wells, and Ethan Wells, Mother-in-law Frances Haynes. Niece and God Daughter, Nicole Bachemin, Niece Colleen Saunders (Bret). Nephews Farrell Williams and Darrell Williams. Four great nieces Victoria and Gabrielle Bachemin and Amanda and Chelsea Williams, an uncle Sterlin Simon and an aunt, Barbara Mae Felton and a host of cousins, loved ones and extended family members.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Gladys Elizabeth Shief and Eddie Anthony Williams Sr., stepfather Stanley Depass, and brother Farrell Williams Sr.
