Alice Humphrey Boothe was born in the Panhandle of Oklahoma to the Lawson family on February 15, 1923, and died in Bethany, Oklahoma July 12, 2025, at the beautiful age of 102 years and 5 months.
After graduating from Panhandle State College in Goodwell Oklahoma,
Alice married Jack D Humphrey on December 24, 1944 in Sedalia, Missouri.
After WWII they lived in the Panhandle before eventually moving to Leedey, Oklahoma and to Canute, Oklahoma where Jack was Superintendent of Schools. In 1973 they moved to Cordell, Oklahoma.
Preceding her in death were husband Jack D. Humphrey, son Clayton Dale Humphrey, son in law Ron Payne, and grandson Jon Payne. In 2015 she married Wayne Boothe who preceded her in death that same year.
Alice is lovingly survived by daughters Karel Kay Payne of Stillwater, and Jocille Macaroni Kamphaus and son in law Tim Kamphaus of Yukon, nephew Joe Lane of Amarillo, and niece Kathy Smith of Yukon. She was a loving grandmother to Shelly Kamphaus Taylor and husband Craig Taylor of OKC, Kristi Payne Leonard and husband Ran Leonard of OKC, Stacey Kamphaus Steiner of OKC, Jessica Kamphaus and husband Aaron Pratt of AustinTX, and Renae Bagzis and husband Mike Bagzis of Cheyenne OK.
She adored her seven great grandchildren Preston Taylor, Payton Leonard, Karoline Leonard, Drue Taylor, Jackson Steiner, Caden Taylor, and Nathan Steiner.
Alice embraced the Cordell community in many ways. Amongst others she was the Cordell librarian, member of Alpha Nu Sorority, an active member of Cordell First Baptist Church, and a Bingo Caller at The Village. Because of her many community involvements she was not only named Cordell Citizen of the Year, she was named Cordell Citizen of the Year twice!
Alice's family wishes to thank Good Shepard Hospice, OKC and Southern Plaza, Bethany for their excellent care of their mother.
