Our brother, uncle and friend, Edwin Everett Dahl, age 86 of Kamas, Utah returned peacefully to our Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at the home of his nephew, Korey and Laura Richins of West Point, Utah. Ed was born on February 28, 1939, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is the second child and second son of Everett James and Cora Madge (Goff) Dahl.

Ed attended South Summit High School, with many friends, graduating in 1957. He was quarterback for the Wildcats and loved playing on the starting basketball team. Ed and Phil Thomas were partners in tennis and won the division and regional championships. He attended Utah State in Logan playing college tennis.

In 1960, Ed joined the United States Air Force for four years. He completed basic training in Texas and went to Technical School in Biloxi, Mississippi. He was stationed at Hickham Air Force Base in Hawaii working in Electronic Communications. While there, he played on the Air Force tennis team traveling to Japan for a tournament.

Ed married Loretta Harvey July 8, 1980, in Las Vegas. (later divorced in 1987)

Ed was working in Hawaii in 1984 repairing a refinery when he experienced a stroke on his right side at the age of 45. In 1996 he wrecked his bronco and decided to stop drinking…...and he did. Bishop Lambert Lewis invited Ed back to church and this was a “new beginning” for the rest of his life. He learned how to endure the many trials that had been placed before him.

Ed was an active and dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He worked in the Family History Center for many years and spent countless hours compiling Family History Books for several individuals in this area. Ed and friends faithfully went to the Provo Temple each week for over 15 years.

Ed is survived by one sister Wendy (Bob) Richins of Coalville, UT and many nieces and nephews. Ed is preceded in death by his parents Everett J. and Cora G. Dahl; 1 brother, James C. Dahl of Heber City, UT; and 3 sisters: Janice D. Evans of Evanston, WY; Judith “Judy” Dahl of Kamas, UT; and Mary D. Lilienthal of Coalville, UT.

The family wishes to express their thanks to all of Eddy’s neighbors and friends for their love and support over the years. As well as, thanks for the help and care that was given by Quality Home Health and Hospice.

Services will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Kamas LDS Chapel, located at 100 W Center Street, Kamas, Utah.

A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the same location.

Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Ed by taking time to work on your personal Family History or by attending the temple in his memory.
